The itinerary developing along the ridge does not present particular difficulties. However, it is recommended to go along it in laps and in more than one day; it crosses Antola Park from west to east and connects Alta Valle Scrivia with Alta Val Trebbia.
Vobbietta is the starting point of the itinerary; chestnut tree woods, mixed woods, and uncultivated meadows alternate until you reach the Bric delle Camere at 1,016m of height; when you get to Costa Salata Pass (the trail was once crossed by an ancient Salt Road), the trail meets the SP road 145, goes ahead, and reaches a clearing on a hill at 1,177m, near the Little Chapel of S. Fermo.
From S. Clemente Pass you can arrive at the northern-eastern slopes of Mt. Buio (1,400m above sea-level); going beyond the ridge you go down the southern slope until you reach the crossroads with the trails coming from Tonno and Crocefieschi.
When you reach the old Musante house, you can go ahead and reach the summit characterized in spring and summer by the presence of a rich flora dominated by orchids, gentians, narcissi, and globe flowers; from the summit of Mt. Antola you gradually go down and admire suggestive views over the slopes of Liguria and Piedmont.
Go ahead up to Casa del Romano where it is possible to have some refreshment and to spend the night; then go ahead towards Capanne di Carrega up to the slopes of Mt. Carmo, reach Mt. Pecoraia, Mt. Zovallo up to Maddalena Pass; from here the itinerary, along Mt. Busasca, goes down across a beech tree wood and then rapidly down to Gorreto.
